![]() I finally called up Linksys support (80) and got step by step help from them. I have been having problems when installing my Linksys WMP54G PCI Adapter. I just followed these steps to successfully install the drivers on Vista RC1 x86 with one small change: use "WINXP" instead of "WINX64" in step #7 * If you see "2L (Conceptronic)" in the left-hand list then skip to step #9ħ) Click "Have Disk" and browse to "C:\Program Files (x86)\RALINK\RT6x Wireless LAN Card\Installer\WINX64"ĩ) In the left-hand list select "2L (Conceptronic)" in the right-hand list select "Conceptronic 54g Wireless PCI Card Version 3.2.0.0 "ġ0) Click yes when asked if you're sure you want to install these drivers We're doing this the old-fashioned way.ģ) Go to "Control Panel" -> "Hardware and Sound" -> "Device Manager"Ĥ) Under "Other Devices" you should see an item named "Network Controller" right click on it and select "Update Driver Software."ĥ) Click "Browse my computer for driver software"Ħ) Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" * If a "Found New Hardware" window pops up at this point just close it. Here's how I did it:ġ) Go to and download the driver package named "RT61 RT2500" (notice in the "OS" section for this download it includes "圆4" support this is important!)Ģ) Run the install file (the filename is like 40 feet long) and then reboot (NOTE: on the first screen I chose "Optimize for WiFi mode". I've noticed a lot of posts regarding the lack of Vista-compatible Linksys wireless card drivers but no posted solutions of this nature.
